Former UFC heavyweight title challenger Mark Hunt states that he was presented with a multi-million dollar offer to fight in Australia.

Appearing on MMA hour, Ariel Helwani and Hunt discussed a legal matter with their former employer when they casually mentioned that the fight promoter allegedly provided them with a large sum of money.

“I’ve always been the person who says things aren’t right,” Hunt explained. “…You know, I was offered $3 million or $4 million to jump into a fight here in Australia. I said, ‘Are you serious?!’ I said no because that’s not who I am…I could have done it if I had the money…but that’s not my personality, it’s not me. I would rather go out with my shield and lose or die. That’s not what I mean. ”

During his eight years in the UFC, Hunt fought in seven events held in Australia. Since parting ways with the UFC, ‘The Super Samoan’ has participated in two boxing matches in Australia, winning against Paul Gallen in December 2020 and securing a fourth-round TKO upset over Sonny Bill Williams.

Mark Hunt intends to stay active in 2024 and has disclosed that he is currently negotiating with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

“I’d like to try bare knuckle,” Hunt said. “I’m talking to [BKFC]. It’s been a while, but we haven’t been able to finalize a deal. I wanted to do bare knuckle and I exchanged a lot of messages with the champion [Mick] Terrill, maybe we can join hands somewhere. ”

Hunt also mentioned that he has been in touch with BKFC founder Dave Feldman in hopes of collaborating in the summer.

“Dave actually texted me and we were talking about the fight,” Hunt said. “Maybe we can work something out in June, and I’m ready to help and hopefully accept it.” [heavyweight] A title in three games, well, let’s win it in one game. ”
