UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey suggests Vince McMahon will remain influential even after his departure

Vince McMahon left WWE after a case resulted in horrifying sexual abuse allegations coming to light.

But is he really gone? One former WWE superstar suggested that McMahon may continue to exert influence through his longtime associates, raising some questions.

Since the superstar in question no longer works for WWE, UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey, who parted ways with WWE in October, may have felt comfortable sharing her opinions. Rousey took to social media on the day of the Royal Rumble to name Bruce Pritchard as someone McMahon would continue to lean on to “keep things moving,” something she claimed he has done before.

Pritchard has often been described as one of the most powerful members of the non-McMahon family within WWE. His official title is executive director, but he almost certainly has influence over more than just some of Weekly TV’s creative direction.

However, one difference from what Rousey experienced during her time at the company is that there is even more oversight at the top. McMahon, who had already been criticized for his creative decisions, was no longer the CEO of WWE, which was led by Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, after WWE merged with the UFC and became TKO. And while Emanuel has been a public supporter of McMahon even before this week, it wouldn’t be surprising if he took a more active role in WWE after everything that happened over the past 72 hours is over.

In other words, Rousey may be right, but there’s hope that if there ever comes a time when WWE is willing to change the culture so that what McMahon’s accusers say is acceptable, it’s that time. Dew. It may take some time to see if that best-case scenario materializes.
