Will Deontay Wilder be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame?
After his recent loss to Joseph Parker at Boxing Day of Reckoning, former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder seems to be winding down his boxing career. Since 2019, Wilder has only managed one win and suffered three losses. His defeat to Parker was preceded by stoppage losses in the final two fights of his Tyson Fury trilogy. The only win during this period came against Robert Helenius, whom Wilder stopped in the first round.
During his reign as WBC champion for over five years, Wilder successfully defended the belt 10 times in a row, a feat achieved by only a few others in the heavyweight division. While some critics argue the quality of his competition, the exclusive nature of his accomplishment cannot be denied. Despite recent setbacks, Wilder’s future in boxing is uncertain. He may continue to add to his legacy or face further defeats as a heavyweight in his late 30s.
The question remains: Will Deontay Wilder be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame?
