Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) took the lead today and aimed his criticisms at Devin Haney following the fight announcement on April 20th on DAZN.
In an interview, Ryan described WBC light welterweight champion Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) as a “phony,” a deceptive figure who pretended to be friendly to him.
Ryan also criticized Haney for not choosing to fight him in the main event for over $20 million and instead fighting for less money on the undercard against Isaac Crews. He also took a shot at Rolando “Rolly” Romero, stating:
