Oshakie Foster successfully defended his WBC junior lightweight title in a match against Abraham Nova at Madison Square Garden on Friday night. Foster, with a record of 21-2, faced off against the 23-1 Nova in the main event, which was scheduled for 12 rounds. Foster’s previous fight resulted in a 12th round TKO of Eduardo Hernandez, while Nova’s last competitive appearance was a knockout win over Jonathan Romero in July.

The match started with both fighters exchanging jabs, with Foster landing a significant blow towards the end of the first round. Nova responded early in the second round, and both fighters remained cautious until Nova landed another hit. Foster took control in the first half of the fourth round, but Nova fought back late in the round. As the fight progressed, both fighters unleashed powerful attacks, with Foster delivering a hard hit in the seventh round. The match remained engaging and entertaining despite a slow start.

As the fight reached the final rounds, Foster and Nova continued to exchange powerful shots, with Foster managing to land a sharp uppercut in the ninth round. In the final moments of the fight, Foster sent Nova to the mat, and although Nova managed to get back up, the judges ultimately ruled in Foster’s favor in a split decision.
