Yair Rodriguez has expressed his dislike for new featherweight champion Ilia Topria.

Rodriguez, who failed to win the interim title against Alexander Volkanovskiy in July, shares the same goal as Topuria, who won the title. When questioned about his performance against Volkanovskiy, he seemed bitter during Wednesday’s UFC Mexico City media event.

“He did it,” Rodriguez said. “He said he would do it and he did it. There’s not much to say about that.

“I want to mess him up,” he continued. “I don’t want to fight him, I want to mess him up. There’s a big difference there. Just to make that clear. Wherever I meet him, I’m gonna mess him up. This crap. The guy is crap. I’m not crap like him.”
