The upcoming UFC Vegas 87 event has seen alterations to its fight card in the lead-up to the event.
UFC officials announced on Tuesday that two fights have been scrapped while two others have been salvaged through last-minute opponent changes.
Featherweight fighter Brendon Marotte was pulled from his match against Mohammad Yahya, resulting in the fight being taken off the card.
Similarly, Josefin Knutsson was also withdrawn from her bout with Giulia Polastri, causing that fight to be removed as well. Polastri will now step in for the injured Shauna Bannon and face Stefani Luciano on March 23 at the UFC Fight Night event headlined by Rose Namajunas vs. Amanda Rivas.
Joel Alvarez was removed from his lightweight contest with Ludovit Klein due to visa complications, and AJ Cunningham, a Contender Series alum, will step in to take his place in the fight on Saturday.
As per a previous report from MMA Fighting, Benardo Sopay will now fight Vinicius Oliveira after Giannis Genmoli was pulled from the card.
Currently, UFC Vegas 87 consists of 11 bouts, with heavyweights Jairzinho Rosenstruck and Shamil Gazzhiev set to headline the event in a five-round main event.
