UFC star Conor McGregor has ventured into acting with his debut in the revamped movie Road House, premiering on Prime Video on March 21st.

In a surprising move, McGregor appears nude in the opening scene of the film, a choice that raised eyebrows. However, McGregor took it in stride, stating he was willing to comply with the director’s vision.

“It was a bit over the top,” McGregor remarked during a Q&A session (via talk sport). “I felt it was excessive. That last shot wasn’t necessary. It could have been more subtle. My physique was strong. I’m here to deliver a performance.”

When faced with a nude scene, McGregor sought advice from his friend Arnold Schwarzenegger, referencing similar bold acts by past movie stars.

“Arnold Schwarzenegger is a friend of mine, and his partner Heather is my physical therapist. Arnold has been a significant influence on my career, aiding me in winning a world title since 2013, so I have developed a close bond with Arnold,” McGregor explained. “Arnold’s initial foray into the film industry was quite daring. He dove right in with strength. When you observe Arnie’s journey and achievements, there is something to hold onto. I thought, ‘There might be something there.’ I channeled my inner action hero, my inner Terminator, and gave it a shot.”

While the film is yet to be released publicly, it has garnered favorable reviews from reviewers. McGregor expressed his delight with his initial acting experience and is enthusiastic about future opportunities in the field.

“It’s truly challenging,” McGregor admitted. “As I watched the characters come to life on screen, I thought to myself: ‘This could go sideways, I could mess this up.’ But watching the movie, I am not an actor. Yet, observing it with an audience, I sense untapped potential within me. I believe there is more to come.”

Conor McGregor’s MMA Future Uncertain

McGregor has completed filming for Road House and is poised to make his Octagon comeback; however, his future in the sport remains uncertain.

The Irish fighter is eager to square off against Michael Chandler in June and Nate Diaz in September. Nevertheless, UFC’s Dana White indicated uncertainty regarding McGregor’s fight schedule for the year.
