If Tim Tszyu emerges victorious against Sebastian Fundora in the quest for the WBO and WBC junior middleweight titles on March 30th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Prime PPV, his sights are set on Errol Spence Jr., also known as the “Big Fish.” Additionally, he expressed interest in facing Terence Crawford.

Crawford has positioned himself as Tszyu’s potential next challenger, leveraging his status as the WBO’s “super champion” in the 147-pound category to secure a mandatory contender spot for Tszyu’s World Boxing Organization 154-pound belt.

Spence: Considerations for bigger paydays?

Debates continue regarding Terence Crawford’s ability to draw pay-per-view audiences, making it potentially more lucrative for Tszyu to face Spence before Crawford. Crawford’s past fights have not garnered significant PPV attention.

The epic clash between Crawford and Spence last July was significant, with Spence’s absence possibly being the reason for the outcome. If Tszyu prioritizes financial gains, the strategic move may involve facing Spence first, followed by a match against Crawford should Spence emerge victorious.

“Let’s focus on the future with an old-school spirit. Next stop, the big fish. Spence or Crawford,” stated Tszyu. X.

Spence (28-1, 22 KOs) has not competed since his defeat to Crawford last July due to an eye injury. Should Errol return to peak physical condition by summer, potential venues for a fight could include Las Vegas, Texas, or Australia.

Some boxing enthusiasts speculate that Spence’s performance against Crawford indicated a decline, attributing it to a combination of injury, a 16-month hiatus, and rapid weight reduction affecting his fitness. There’s a belief that he could be susceptible to Crawford due to these factors.

Facing the Fundora Challenge

Following Keith Thurman’s withdrawal due to a bicep injury, Tszyu will face the 6-foot-5 Sebastián Fundora (20-1-1, 13 KOs) on March 30. Despite the short notice, Tszyu faces a tough task against Fundora, a tall and skilled opponent deserving of serious consideration.
