Angelo Leo is continuing his journey towards a world title in two weight classes.

Leo, known as a featherweight contender, will be up against Eduardo Baez on April 24, as confirmed by Probox TV’s Chris Glover to The Ring. The 10-round match is scheduled to happen at the White Sands (also known as Probox TV) Event Center in Plant City, Florida and will be live-streamed on the Probox TV app and YouTube channel (8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT).

Glover expressed, “This is set to be a thrilling fight. Angelo possesses both boxing finesse and the ability to finish a fight decisively when necessary. We witnessed his skills in his recent match. He is a standout athlete who consistently delivers entertaining fights. Angelo is determined to make a strong statement. I believe he outshines Raymond Ford, the current WBA world featherweight titleholder, in terms of skill and boxing intellect.”

“Baez may be smaller in stature, but he is an aggressive forward-moving fighter with a fierce fighting spirit. He always enters the ring with the intent to win. Style-wise, this promises to be an exciting matchup for ProBox TV.”

Leo (23-1, 11 KOs), who resides and trains in Las Vegas, Nevada, achieved a third-round knockout victory over Mike Plania in his previous bout on January 31st. Prior to that, he stopped Nicolas Polanco in the 9th round in a fight on November 1.

Before these fights, the 29-year-old competed under the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) banner. He secured the WBO world junior featherweight title by defeating Tremaine Williams via unanimous decision in August 2020. However, Leo later lost the world title to Stephen Fulton.

Leo also boasts victories over Cesar Juarez and Aaron Alameda.

Baez (23-5-2, 9 KOs), hailing from Mexicali, Mexico, and currently based in Calexico, California, last fought on Dec. 16, triumphing over Genaro Velarde Rodriguez with a fifth-round stoppage. Baez has clinched wins in his past two matches subsequent to his defeat to unbeaten prospect Jonathan Lopez on June 2.

The 28-year-old challenged the then-WBO world featherweight titleholder Emmanuel Navarrete in August 2022, losing by knockout in the sixth round. Despite the defeat, Baez was leading on two of the judges’ scorecards at the moment of the stoppage.

In a co-feature bout, junior lightweight Jacob Gomez Zayas (9-0-1, 6 KOs) from Caguas, Puerto Rico, will face off against Jose Arellano (11-1, 6 KOs) of Aurora, Colorado in an eight-round bout.

In another junior lightweight clash, Dominic Valle (8-0, 6 KOs) from Lutz, Florida, will go head-to-head with Angel Vazquez (12-1, 6 KOs) from Mexico in an eight-round bout.
