Abus Magomedov, the new Russian fighter at UFC 308, faced off against Brunno Ferreira on Oct. 26. Sources familiar with the situation confirmed this match-up following a report by Laerte Viana.
UFC 308’s main event will feature Ilia Topuria vs. Max Holloway in a battle for the featherweight championship, while the co-main event will showcase Robert Whittaker taking on Khamzat Chimaev. The event will be held at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
Ferreira (12-1) was initially set to fight Roman Kopylov on Aug. 24 but had to pull out due to illness.
Nicknamed “Hulk,” Ferreira has impressed with two first-round knockouts in his recent UFC bouts, earning bonuses for his victories over Phil Hawes and Dustin Stoltzfus.
On the other hand, Magomedov (26-6-1) secured a win by decision against Warlley Alves in his last bout in May, rebounding from back-to-back decision losses to Caio Borralho and Sean Strickland.
The 33-year-old fighter from Dagestan has won 14 out of his 26 MMA fights by knockout, including a swift 19-second victory over Stoltzfus in his UFC debut.
