Notable UFC lightweights will face off this March.
The fight between Alexander Hernandez and Kurt Holobaugh is a recent addition to UFC Fight Night 254, scheduled for March 15 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Two sources with knowledge of the matchup have informed MMA Junkie about the booking. They requested anonymity as the promotion has not yet officially announced it.
Hernandez, holding a record of 15-8 MMA and 7-7 UFC, ended a two-fight losing streak in October by securing a split decision victory over Austin Hubbard. Previously a key member of Factory X, Hernandez now trains at UFC Gym Lone Tree in Lone Tree, Colorado.
Holobaugh, with a record of 21-8 MMA and 2-5 UFC, returned to the UFC in 2023 through “The Ultimate Fighter 31.” He impressively submitted Hubbard in the lightweight final but subsequently lost to Trey Ogden. In July, he made a successful comeback by defeating Kaynan Kruschewsky.
With this addition, the lineup for UFC Fight Night 254 now includes:
– Waldo Cortes-Acosta vs. Ryan Spann
– Daniel Barez vs. Andre Lima
– Yuneisy Duben vs. Carli Judice
– Sam Hughes vs. Stephanie Luciano
