LONDON – Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou remained composed as they met for the first time, focusing on their upcoming ring battle.

Former heavyweight boxing champion Joshua will take on former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou in a 10-round bout on March 8 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, following impressive performances from both fighters.

In October, Ngannou surprised the martial arts world with a close split decision loss to Tyson Fury, where he knocked Fury down in his professional boxing debut. In December, Joshua won by TKO in the fifth round after breaking Otto Wallin’s nose, ending his 3-0 season and setting up a highly anticipated match with Deontay Wilder.

This sets the stage for Ngannou’s second big fight since leaving the UFC last year. Despite his impressive performance against Fury, Ngannou is determined to focus on his forthcoming challenge, expressing his belief that he has the ability to succeed.

While Ngannou’s coach, Dewey Cooper, is confident in his fighter’s abilities to deliver a decisive blow to Joshua, Ngannou remains humble in his approach to the fight.

Ngannou, who was initially underestimated due to his lack of experience in the ring, aims to demonstrate his capabilities in the upcoming fight. Joshua, on the other hand, is solely focused on his opponent, emphasizing the importance of rigorous training to secure victory in the match.

Addressing the speculation around his capabilities following a previous loss, Joshua is determined to prove himself in the upcoming match. Ngannou also hopes to put Joshua’s abilities to the test, expressing curiosity about the rumored weaknesses in his opponent’s performance.
