Just before his fight with Marko Nikolic, Anthony Yarde expressed his eagerness to face Joshua Buatsi.
The No. 4 light heavyweight also mentioned his belief that he has made significant improvements following his loss, unlike Artur Beterbiev’s other 19 opponents.
If Yarde’s victory over the 34-year-old Nikolic is an indication of his further improvement, it brings him closer to a fight with Buatsi.
Buatsi was present at Yarde’s 25th victory and joined in as Yarde spoke to the camera. Both fighters are promoted by different entities, and their potential fight has been highly anticipated.
The promoters and television networks have announced that they will fight this summer, adding to the excitement in the 175-pound category.
The fight between Buatsi and Yarde is not only intriguing due to their domestic rivalry, but also because both fighters are in their prime and seem evenly matched.
