The Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir met with martial arts champion Shazaib Rind and boxer Amir Khan, commending their remarkable accomplishments in the field of contact sports, as per a statement from the military.

During the interaction with the nation’s outstanding athletes, the Army Chief showcased his unwavering belief in the exceptional potential of Pakistan’s youth.

Lindh, hailing from Balochistan, emerged victorious in the prestigious full-contact striking league of Karate Combat held in the United States. He boasts a remarkable track record as a six-time national champion as well.

Khan, a celebrated boxer, retired from professional boxing after securing 34 wins and 6 losses, clinching two super lightweight world titles and successfully defending his title five times.

Recently, the Express Tribune covered the story of Rind in the weekly magazine “T-Magazine”. During an interview, the mixed martial artist narrated his journey from the rugged terrains of Balochistan to the grand stage in the United States.

The athlete also emerged victorious against India’s Rana Singh at Karate Combat 45.

“I underwent rigorous training for over a year to ensure peak performance for the fight. It was a defining moment in my career,” he shared with T Magazine.

As tensions escalated, Lind engaged in a scuffle with Shin. “The altercation with Indian fighter Rana Singh ensued after he insulted me and made derogatory remarks about Pakistan. Following a press conference, the Indian athlete taunted and pushed me. In response, I retaliated to reassert my position,” stated Shahzaib.

However, upholding the values of sportsmanship, the Pakistani MMA champion proudly raised the national flags of both India and Pakistan post his victory, championing unity and positivity amidst challenges, garnering widespread acclaim.

Lindh’s aspirations reach new heights. “My ultimate ambition is to attain the status of a world champion, or at least move closer to that title. I aspire to etch my name in history as the first Pakistani to claim the world championship title in martial arts,” affirmed the champion to the magazine.
