Ben Rothwell has his eyes set on the BKFC Heavyweight Championship and envisions some exciting potential matchups in the future.

If all goes well for Rothwell, his next challenge will be against Todd Duffy at BKFC: Knucklemania 4 this Saturday at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Should he emerge victorious, he aims to face off against Lorenzo Hunt and Mick Terrill for the championship.

After these fights, the 42-year-old Rothwell plans to evaluate the progression of his career.

Rothwell expressed his thoughts on his path to the title, “I’ve got to overcome Todd Duffy first and foremost. It’s not just about winning but putting on a good performance too.”

He emphasized the importance of not only winning the belt but also defending it consistently. Rothwell’s strategy is clear: continue winning for as long as his body allows.

If Rothwell succeeds in his next two bouts and keeps hold of the BKFC title, he acknowledges the numerous possibilities ahead. He mentioned hearing about potential opponents like Roy Nelson, Cain Velasquez, and the likelihood of Mark Hunt joining the BKFC heavyweight division.

Rothwell believes that Hunt, who he faced in a UFC bout back in September 2011 and lost by unanimous decision, is close to signing with BKFC.

Should Hunt be recruited, Rothwell anticipates that a fight between them would raise their profiles and boost BKFC’s reputation.

“There’s been a lot of chatter about Mark Hunt potentially coming on board,” Rothwell shared. “He has a unique physicality, being a seasoned, powerful fighter with lethal fists. I’ve heard he intends to have a few fights before vying for the title, which creates a buzz for a potential championship match in the future.”

“Mark Hunt ticks all the boxes. Despite it being a rematch, it’s a significant bout for me. It’s a challenge I’m eager to take on,” Rothwell added.
