Ben Whittaker will be back in action on the undercard of the all-British clash between undefeated light heavyweights Joshua Bouatsi and Dan Azeez on Saturday, February 3 at London’s OVO Arena Wembley.
Whittaker closed out last year with a dazzling knockout of Stephen Leonetti-Dreadhage in Bournemouth. Now, with a 5-0 record, the 2020 Tokyo Olympic silver medalist is set for an eight-round bout against Swiss-based French boxer Khalid Glaydia in the new year.
Glaydia is returning to Britain after facing off against Whittaker’s local rivals Zac Parker, Ezra Taylor, and Karol Itauma in London. He also went up against British and Commonwealth champion Dan Azeez in Milan in July 2023.
“The Surgeon is back and ready to start 2024 with fresh clinical results. I have all eyes on the entire light heavyweight division. With another big year coming up, February 3rd Don’t miss the beginning of “,” Whitaker said.
“This is the start of a big year for Ben Whittaker,” said Boxer CEO and founder Ben Shalom. “He will bring his star power to an already huge night for light heavyweights in London on February 3rd. Ben has a special talent and this year he will be the star of the show. I look forward to seeing them headline and compete for major titles.”
Adam Azim, who dethroned Franck Petitjean in front of a sold-out crowd in Wolverhampton last year, will make his first defense of the EBU European junior welterweight title against undefeated former champion Enoch Poulsen.
Francesca Hennessy, who is attracting attention in the featherweight division, and Hope and Jimmy TKV in the heavyweight division are also scheduled to participate.
The event will be broadcast on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland and on Peacock in the US.
