Michael “Venom” Page has officially become a part of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

At UFC 299 in Miami, Florida on March 9, 2024, Page, known for his flamboyant style, made his highly anticipated debut in the Octagon with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Kevin Holland.

Before stepping into the Octagon, “MVP” wowed the crowd with an entrance inspired by The Undertaker. While former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya had also done a WWE-themed walk before, it was Page’s first UFC fight and he wanted to make a statement.

Page expressed his enthusiasm for putting on a more elaborate show, stating in a post-fight interview: “Honestly, we had planned something even more captivating. It could have been more entertaining. The UFC advised me to tone it down a bit, so I had to modify my plans.”

He added, “I enjoy turning it into a spectacle. It helps me ease into the fight, makes time fly, and I have a blast. It puts me in the right mindset, even in the face of danger.”

While Page’s entrance showcased his unique personality, a departure from the norm in MMA, UFC President Dana White, who typically disapproves of such theatrics, was not thrilled, despite Page’s performance.

When asked about the possibility of more extravagant entrances in future fights at the UFC 299 post-fight press conference, White simply responded, “No, I’m not a fan.”
