Bruno Silva’s attempt to change the outcome of his match against Chris Weidman was turned down by the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board. Silva’s representative, Bernardo Serale, shared the decision with MMA Fighting’s Guilherme Cruz. Following a fight where a sequence of eye pokes impacted the final result at UFC Atlantic City, Silva tried to reverse the technical decision. Despite video evidence indicating the eye pokes causing Silva’s fall and subsequent pain, the match officials opted to rely on the judges’ scores to determine the winner, naming Weidman as the champion. Disappointed by this outcome, Silva contested the decision to have the match voided, but the Athletic Control Board upheld the original ruling.
