Khamzat Chimaev has impressed fight fans by participating in three UFC matches within just two months. Now, the UFC seems to be planning a similar schedule for their emerging star Shara “Bullet” Magomedov, who is set to fight at UFC 308 in October.

Magomedov, also known as the vibrant “Pirate,” may encounter difficulties in getting licensed to fight in North America due to his visual impairment in one eye. Consequently, the UFC is working towards involving him in numerous international fights. Since his UFC debut in October 2023, where he defeated Bruno Silva through a unanimous decision, Magomedov has been swiftly navigating his UFC journey.

He recently achieved a TKO victory over Antonio Trocoli in Saudi Arabia, followed by another win against Michal Oleksiejczuk in Abu Dhabi just six weeks later. Rumors suggest that his next opponent will be Armen Petrosyan at an upcoming pay-per-view event in October, marking Shara’s third fight in four months.

Armen Petrosyan has indicated that the bout is almost finalized, sharing on social media their anticipation for the official announcement. Despite the fight’s potential, Magomedov’s free-agent contract status following his last bout introduces some uncertainty before any confirmation from the UFC.

While Magomedov, with a perfect record of 14-0, shows promise as a potential promotion star with his unique appearance and entertaining fight style, he hasn’t displayed the same dominant performance as Khamzat Chimaev. Unlike Chimaev’s rapid wins in his initial three fights, Magomedov has secured two decision victories in three matches. Nonetheless, he received a Performance of the Night bonus for his finish and was honored with the Fight of the Night title in his clash with Oleksiejczuk.

The upcoming faceoff against the unranked Petrosyan will be another challenging encounter for Magomedov, promising exciting action in the octagon. Additionally, the UFC 308 matchups in Abu Dhabi include Ilia Topuria vs. Max Holloway, Robert Whittaker vs. Khamzat Chimaev, Magomed Ankalaev vs. Aleksandar Rakic, and Ciryl Gane vs. Alexander Volkov.
