During a recent press conference, Canelo Alvarez displayed confidence in his upcoming bout against Edgar Berlanga, asserting, “It’s one thing to talk about knocking me out, but it’s a whole different story to actually make it happen. Saturday night will be a tough challenge for him, no doubt. I’ve trained hard for the knockout, and I’m determined to make it happen.” Despite facing criticism for not fighting David Benavidez, Canelo remains focused on his upcoming match and isn’t bothered by accusations of avoiding opponents.

Anticipating the fight, Canelo remarked, “I’m eagerly looking forward to Saturday night. This clash promises to be thrilling for the fans. The Mexico vs. Puerto Rico rivalry always delivers excitement.” He considers it a privilege to fight on Mexican Independence Day and takes pride in representing the Mexican people in Las Vegas this weekend.

Despite being the favored fighter, Canelo emphasized that he is approaching the Berlanga fight with seriousness and thorough preparation. Conversely, Berlanga views this as a huge opportunity for his team and expresses confidence in his ability to shine on Saturday night.

Berlanga aims for an early knockout and declares, “I’m known for my knockout power. Every boxer aims for a knockout. We understand he’s a legendary fighter, so we can’t just swing wildly. We have to approach it strategically. Our goal is a sixth-round knockout, but we’re prepared to go the distance if needed.” At 34 years old, Canelo is determined to demonstrate that he is still the top fighter in the sport.
