Canelo Alvarez is self-assured in his ability to defeat Conor McGregor in a boxing bout. Despite gearing up to defend his titles this Saturday, Alvarez toyed with the idea of fighting McGregor when prompted by a reporter. He found the notion amusing and remarked that it would be “easy, easy, way easy money.”

McGregor, a former UFC champion, has only entered one professional boxing match against Floyd Mayweather in 2017. Alvarez suggested that he could easily knock McGregor out at his discretion, underscoring his faith in his skills.

While an Alvarez-McGregor matchup seems improbable, Alvarez is scheduled to face Edgar Berlanga this weekend in a boxing event coinciding with a nearby UFC occasion. UFC CEO Dana White has shown interest in arranging events on Mexican Independence Day weekend, a move that Alvarez doesn’t oppose. He believes healthy competition is beneficial and remains fixated on his personal team and objectives.
