Australians support each other.

Khamzat Chimaev is making a comeback! (fingers crossed) UFC CEO Dana White revealed that the unbeaten Middleweight has been rescheduled to face Robert Whittaker at UFC 308, set to happen on Oct. 26 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The lineup for the event is incredible; you can find more details here.

Yesterday (Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024), UFC Welterweight Jack Della Maddalena criticized Chimaev on his Instagram stories.

“Chimaev is a fan of steroids,” Maddalena stated.

The steroid accusations felt unexpected. The speculation is that Maddalena may be supporting his fellow Australian, Whittaker.

Chimaev has been absent from fighting since UFC 294 (Oct. 21, 2023) due to visa problems and hospitalizations. He was set to headline UFC’s first event in Saudi Arabia against Whittaker but withdrew a week earlier.

Maddalena’s most recent bout was at UFC 299 in Miami, where he defeated Gilbert Burns by knockout (watch highlights). Since then, the 27-year-old Australian has been contending with infection stemming from a broken arm sustained in the Burns fight.

The infection was severe, preventing him from competing in his hometown of Perth at UFC 305 on Aug. 17.
