For seven years, Christian Lee has been competing in the One Championship ring, where he won 17 out of 21 matches representing Singapore since his debut in 2015 at a young age. He took a break from the sport after claiming the One welterweight world title and becoming a two-division champion by defeating Kiamrian Abbasov from Kyrgyzstan in November 2022.

After the tragic loss of his sister Victoria, who passed away at the age of 18 in December 2022, Christian decided to take time off to heal. Nearly two years later, the 26-year-old fighter, also known as “The Warrior,” announced his comeback on July 13 to uphold his family’s MMA legacy. He is scheduled to defend his One lightweight world title against Alibeg Rasulov at the One 169: Atlanta event on November 8.

In a recent interview, Christian disclosed that he had considered retiring from professional fighting. His older sister Angela retired in September 2023 after an eight-year career to focus on managing the charity Fightstory, a non-profit that aids fighters dealing with mental health challenges.

Despite feeling anxious about his return, Christian made the decision to pursue his MMA career. He is looking forward to defending his lightweight title and eventually defending his welterweight title as well.

The Lee siblings – Angela, Christian, Victoria, and Adrian – who are of Singaporean and South Korean descent, have made a name for themselves in the MMA world despite being born in different countries. All four siblings have represented Singapore in their MMA journeys.
