Once again, the internet is abuzz with a video of a fighter delivering devastating body shots. There seems to be a strange fascination with watching professional fighters unleash their power on willing recipients, whether it’s a body shot from boxing legend Canelo Alvarez or a leg kick from the likes of Jon Jones.
This time around, the action unfolded at Ares FC 22: Sola vs. Imavov event in Paris, France. Amateur MMA fighter Idriss Altidor bravely stepped up and asked former UFC interim Heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane to land three body shots on him. You can watch the video of the encounter below:
Altidor, who recently started his MMA journey and holds a 1-1 record as an amateur with one knockout, is no stranger to absorbing punishment. He has taken body shots from notable figures in the world of MMA, including PFL fighter Abdoul “Lazy King” Abdouraguimov and Baysangur “Baki” Chamsoudinov. Not to mention, he willingly subjected himself to multiple knees to the body just for the thrill of it.
In the spotlight is Gane, the fighter delivering the punishing blows in the video. Gane had the opportunity to contend for another UFC interim Heavyweight title at UFC 304 against Tom Aspinall. Surprisingly, he declined the offer in favor of working on a movie project.
Despite his break from the octagon, it’s evident that Gane is staying sharp and honing his skills by engaging in such interactions with fellow fighters. Fans can anticipate his return to action when UFC makes its way back to Paris in September. Gane is poised to represent France on a global stage, particularly during the 2024 Olympics.
