It’s a mistake to underestimate Claressa “T-Rex” Shields. Just ask Vanessa Lepage Joanisse, who saw Shields secure her fifth divisional title in under two rounds on Saturday night. The victory of the native of Flint, Michigan showcased her incredible talent and skill, silencing any critics. Shields displayed her best performance yet, highlighting the peak of her impressive career.

Shields took control right from the beginning, landing powerful punches on Joanisse in the opening round. A crushing blow knocked the defending champion to the mat in the second round. Despite Joanisse showing courage and getting back up, Shields continued her relentless assault, sending her down two more times, leading the referee to halt the match. Shields secured the WBC heavyweight title along with the WBO light heavyweight title.

After the fight ended, Shields confidently stated, “How do you like that? I’m scared of myself right now.”
