Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall Gets Guarantee From UFC CEO Dana White
During the UFC Tampa post-fight press conference, Dana White highlighted the significance of a title unification bout between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall.
“I think it’s probably the biggest fight in heavyweight history and it’s a massive fight in the history of the company too,” White emphasized. “It’s a big fight.”
Regarding the idea that Jones is evading Aspinall, White remains unconvinced. He firmly believes that Jones has never shied away from a fight.
“What’s odd about that is that usually, fighters express those concerns behind the scenes, not publicly. Jon makes those statements publicly but not in private,” White explained. “Jon is a very unique individual to deal with. From the beginning, I’ve been confident that Jon Jones would agree to that fight. Even before the last bout, I stated that if he won, there was no way Jon would avoid this fight. Jon Jones isn’t afraid to fight anybody, and that’s a fact.”
