David Benavidez has long been eager to step into the ring with Canelo Alvarez, but it seems that Canelo may not be as enthusiastic about the matchup at the moment. Despite Benavidez’s efforts to make the fight happen, he acknowledges that Canelo has not shown the same level of interest, leading him to consider moving on from the potential bout.
Benavidez is adamant that the delay in the fight is not due to him, pointing to Canelo’s apparent reluctance to face him as the reason. Nevertheless, Benavidez remains positive about the prospect of a future showdown, expressing his belief that he would claim victory and all of Canelo’s titles. Currently, Benavidez is gearing up for his upcoming fight for the interim WBC light heavyweight title against Oleksandr Gvozdyk.
Looking ahead, Benavidez is determined to succeed in any weight class he competes in, remaining hopeful that a clash with Canelo will materialize eventually. While Canelo has the freedom to select his opponents, Benavidez is optimistic that the highly anticipated matchup will take place soon, fulfilling the desires of both himself and the fans.
