Demetrious Johnson, also known as ‘Mighty Mouse,’ officially announced his retirement from mixed martial arts at the ONE 168 event in Denver, Colorado. This marks the end of a successful career spanning two decades for the legendary fighter.

Johnson, who last fought in May 2023 and defended his ONE flyweight MMA world championship, made the emotional decision to retire in the same venue where he achieved many career milestones. He expressed his gratitude to his fans and the sport for the opportunities he had during his career.

Throughout his time in the sport, Johnson accomplished many milestones, such as becoming the UFC’s first flyweight world champion in 2012. He set a record by successfully defending his title 11 times in a row, defeating top contenders like John Dodson, Kyoji Horiguchi, and Henry Cejudo.

In 2018, Johnson continued his success in the flyweight division after being traded to ONE Championship. He won the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix and defended his title against Adriano Moraes in a series of fights.

Prior to retiring, Johnson was recognized as the inaugural member of the ONE Championship Hall of Fame. He left the arena with his Hall of Fame statue and the flyweight title, holding onto his championship status symbolically by taking the belt with him.
