Deontay Wilder: ‘Anthony Joshua has lost the respect of the heavyweight division’

The highly anticipated showdown between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder may be drawing closer as the two prepare for their upcoming fights.

Deontay Wilder continues to criticize Anthony Joshua ahead of his match with Joseph Parker, which will be available on DAZN PPV on December 23rd. He describes Joshua as competitive and nervous, indicating that he has lost the respect of the heavyweight division.

“There was no need to say much about Anthony Joshua in the press conference. Everyone, especially Jarrell Miller, had already said a lot. I’m not a fan of Miller, but he was spot on about Joshua. With that being said, I didn’t need to add anything. I felt like there were a lot of guys targeting him already. AJ seems to have lost the respect he once had. A few losses later. Now that he’s been defeated, everyone sees him as a winner and isn’t afraid to give him a slap in the face. It must be tough for him to go from being widely respected to this point. Being around him… , feel it.”

Deontay Wilder also shared his perception of Joshua’s demeanor, stating, “But when it came to me, Joshua seemed very nervous. They don’t know how to treat me because they don’t know who I am in different situations. My calm demeanor at the press conference seemed to surprise him and many others. But I wish AJ the best of luck. Our fight has been a long time coming, and that’s what everyone is asking for. There were setbacks, like they didn’t accept the $50 million offer or they offered me a lower rate. However, the truth eventually comes out. Now, AJ has to get past Wallin and I have to beat Parker. If both of them can finish this battle safely, a big showdown will begin.”

If we both win, nothing will stop us from fighting.

“Right now, I don’t think there’s anything that would prevent a fight with A.J. The only thing that could derail the story is if either of them loses on December 23rd. All the previous issues, such as disagreements with the promoters, don’t seem to matter anymore. Everyone seems to be on the same page. If both win on December 23rd, everyone will win in 2024. We can all look forward to an exciting fight between Wilder and Joshua.”

Otto Wallin has a real chance to thwart our plans.

“Otto Wallin definitely has a good chance to thwart our plans. Depending on his determination and how hungry he is that night, anyone can turn the tide of the battle. Parker is no different. Mine. Despite the power and skill, he has as much chance as I do. I still have to perform and apply the training.”

Saudi Arabia is all set for a potential fight with A.J.

“I’m all for whatever Saudi Arabia plans. I’m grateful for their organization. They’ve sorted out dates, locations, and even payments. As a fighter, it’s great to have such a clear schedule. That’s great. It’s rare to get such a detailed deal.”
