ESPN Junior welterweight champion Devin Haney is scheduled to face the popular Ryan Garcia on April 20th in Las Vegas. This is a highly anticipated match, offering Haney a chance to defeat one of the sport’s hottest attractions and giving Garcia a shot at winning his first world championship. It’s worth noting that Garcia has yet to compete for a world title belt. While no contracts have been signed yet and anything can happen in boxing, with Haney holding a 31-0 record and Garcia at 24-1, this fight has been in the works for some time.

Haney is known for his exceptional skills and willingness to deliver explosive performances in the ring. He showcased this in his victory over George Kambosos in 2022 and an impressive win against Regis Prograis in December. Additionally, his close fight with Vasyl Lomachenko last May demonstrated his ability to rise to the occasion.

In contrast, Garcia embraces the role of a modern-day celebrity, using his social media platforms to engage with fans and share insights into his career. However, he is not just a pop culture figure but also a formidable fighter with a fast and aggressive style, earning the moniker “King Rai.” Despite his loss to Gervonta Davis last April, Garcia has maintained his popularity and appeal, showing his determination and fighting spirit.

Although Haney and Garcia have different approaches to their careers, they have a history as they faced each other six times as amateurs, with three wins each. As they prepare for their upcoming bout, Garcia is considered the favorite, but in boxing, anything can happen.
