Diego Pacheco defeats Marcelo Coceres in the 9th round

Diego Pacheco, a rising star in the super middleweight division, faced Marcelo Coceres in a 12-round bout at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California. Pacheco, with a record of 19-0, fought defensively at first, while Coceres, with a record of 32-5-1, took an aggressive approach. The match started off evenly, with both fighters being cautious. In the second round, Coceres displayed aggressiveness, while Pacheco remained steady.

As the fight progressed, Pacheco displayed patience, waiting for the right moment to strike, while Coceres, although aggressive, showed a lack of refined skills. Despite this, Coceres remained competitive and determined. There was a headbutt incident in the fourth round, but Pacheco continued with occasional jabs, while Coceres kept pressing forward.

The fifth and sixth rounds were closely contested, with Pacheco landing better punches but Coceres controlling the action. In the sixth round, Pacheco landed a significant left hand towards the end. In the seventh round, Pacheco showcased his defensive skills but didn’t throw many punches. An accidental headbutt caused a brief pause in the action.

In the eighth round, Pacheco regained momentum, delivering powerful combinations and ultimately knocking Coceres down with a stunning uppercut in the 9th round. Coceres decided not to get up, resulting in Pacheco’s victory by knockout.
