After a sensational performance at UFC Vegas 80, hard-hitting Drew Dober has set his sights on lofty goals and ambitions for the future, including a fight with Michael Chandler.
At UFC Vegas 80, Dober impressed the world with his sharpness and precision, among other things. Not to mention how he became the leader in KOs within the lightweight division.
Against opponent Ricky Glenn, Dober utilized his combos and all the assets at his disposal to land the big shots he needed, never losing his cool or rushing the finish. Opponent Glenn tried hard to hold on, but his only success that night was illegally holding Dover’s glove in a grappling exchange.
The fight ended soon after the incident, but, of course, it is difficult to blame anyone for a mistake made at such a crucial moment. Dover won the prize money with a beautiful finish and a $50,000 bonus for his performance on the night. Dana White and the UFC.
Drew Dover wants Michael Chandler to make a super fun banger next
The Chandler-Dover match has all the makings of a certified classic, as both fighters are known for their entertaining performances. The young rising star was hesitant to address anyone after the match, but ultimately made it clear that he wanted to fight Chandler.
“I keep thinking if Chandler wants a 5-foot-9 southpaw to warm up.” [for Conor] McGregor, we are always available,” Drew Dawber informed the world.
Sadly, Dover will have to climb much longer before being given a chance like the one against Michael Chandler. A fight like this would be life-changing, and the UFC will need more convincing before giving Dober such an ultimate push.
