When speaking with MMA Junkie, Poirier expressed his disappointment at Saint-Denis’ “excuses” and advised the fighter to refrain from making such comments.

“You make statements like that. I’ve dealt with infections, injuries, all kinds of challenges in my fights. We face hurdles daily. If you lose, you shouldn’t make excuses. You should stay silent,” Poirier remarked.

Following this victory, Poirier is back in the title contention and is expected to engage in a significant bout next. Saint-Denis, being young, will have more opportunities ahead.
