Dustin Poirier responded to Conor McGregor’s reaction to his knockout of Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 299.

Poirier went into the co-main event of UFC 299 facing Saint-Denis, where he was considered an underdog by bettors. Many doubted him following his knockout defeat to Justin Gaethje the previous year.

Saint-Denis had the upper hand in the first round and even managed to knock Poirier down early in the second. However, Poirier recovered, landed a solid uppercut and right hook, ultimately knocking out Saint-Denis.

“That’s why I compete,” Poirier expressed. “I began this journey to become the world champion, to establish myself as the undisputed best in the sport. I need to reflect, have conversations with my coach, my wife, and my management. Then, the next steps will become clear. I’m unsure about what lies ahead, but I’ve accomplished a lot in this arena. I’m not boasting, but I’ve experienced many battles and achieved numerous milestones. However, there are still goals to achieve, and one significant one is winning the world championship.”
