Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn believes that Devin Haney won’t have to cut weight for his fight against WBC light welterweight champion Regis Prograis, which will be aired on DAZN on Saturday night. Hearn predicts that Haney will punch harder at 140 pounds compared to his usual weight of 135, despite only a 5-pound difference.

Haney doesn’t seem to be strong anymore

According to Hearn, despite not appearing stronger in recent workout footage, Haney is expected to deliver more impactful punches at 140 pounds, potentially surprising people. However, Hearn warns that Haney could be in a dangerous position if he attempts to stand toe-to-toe with Prograis, as it may not end well for him.

In addition, Hearn expressed satisfaction with the press conferences for Haney vs. Prograis, particularly enjoying the verbal sparring between Regis’ strength coach Evin Tobler and others on stage.

Haney will punch harder at 140

“People underestimate, Devin Haney will punch harder at 140. “Remember the stress he put on his body to get to 135 was brutal,” Eddie Hearn said in an interview with fight hub tv, expressing his belief that Haney will have more power against Regis Prograis on Saturday.

Furthermore, Hearn was pleased with the pre-fight build-up and the humorous exchanges between the respective camps during press conferences.

Prograis skills are underrated

Aside from Haney’s anticipated power at 140, Hearn highlighted Prograis’ underrated boxing skills, emphasizing that it will be an exciting matchup with high expectations for a big crowd turnout.

Overall, Hearn expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming fight and commended Haney for generating interest through his social media presence and various interviews.
