Eddie Hearn has refuted claims that Matchroom is releasing Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis from his contract, stating that the reports are untrue. Hearn is adamant about retaining IBF welterweight champion Ennis (32-0, 29 KOs) for the duration of his career and asserts that they have no intention of letting him go. Hearn is currently in talks with the management of IBF mandatory Karen Chukhadzhian to organize Ennis’ next fight in November, which may be announced this coming Saturday or early next week, ideally to be held in Philadelphia.

Despite speculation circulating on Twitter regarding Ennis possibly being dropped by Matchroom, Hearn has categorically denied such claims and has reaffirmed their dedication to the highly skilled boxer. While there have been concerns raised by boxing fans about Hearn’s handling of Ennis, particularly in failing to secure a unification bout against WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr., Hearn is focused on keeping Ennis in the welterweight category to chase after all the title belts rather than shifting to the 154-pound division.

Hearn is proud to represent Ennis and is pleased with the productive partnership they have built together thus far. Despite some criticisms regarding the level of competition Ennis has faced since joining Matchroom, Hearn remains positive about Ennis’ prospects in the sport. Despite facing setbacks in recent purse bid contests, Hearn is committed to continuing to work with Ennis and is excited about the possibility of setting up unification fights down the line.
