“Dark Side of the Ring” producer Evan Husney recently talked about the difficulties he encounters during the production of the show. With 50 episodes already aired and more stories awaiting to be shared, Husney mentioned that convincing certain individuals to participate in the series can be the most challenging aspect of the whole process. Some episodes that fans have been eager to see have not materialized due to this particular issue.
One of the main obstacles for the producers has been gaining access to key individuals outside of the wrestling community. Despite considering nearly all suggested episode ideas from fans, there are still some untold stories because of the challenges in securing participation from the necessary individuals.
Since 2019, Vice TV’s “Dark Side of the Ring” has explored some of the most infamous stories in professional wrestling, such as The Montreal Screwjob, the Chris Benoit tragedy, and the ’90s steroid trials. The show has also brought to light lesser-known narratives involving personalities like Johnny K-9, Chris Adams, and Herb Abrams.
