Former AEW Employee Expresses Concerns About Tony Khan’s Leadership Abilities

AEW President Tony Khan has been facing criticism from various sources, including online platforms and industry insiders, regarding his approach to management. While Khan is generally regarded as a decent individual, there have been reservations expressed about his booking decisions, especially by individuals who have departed from AEW.

During a recent virtual signing event with “K&S WrestleFest,” former commentator Kevin Kelly discussed his time working under Khan. Kelly was prompted to share his thoughts on Frankie Kazarian’s characterization of AEW as “inmates running the asylum,” considering their friendship. Recalling his tenure at AEW, Kelly observed that Khan seemed to be at the center of everything and questioned why he didn’t entrust more responsibilities to the experienced veterans on the roster.

Khan has reportedly considered the possibility of stepping down from his role as the AEW booker in the future. WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has recommended Dustin Rhodes as a potential successor to Khan in AEW.
