Oleksandr Usyk will stop Tyson Fury in the 10th or 11th round of their December 21 rematch. This prediction comes from former heavyweight champion Michael Moorer.

Moorer believes that Usyk’s boxing intelligence and conditioning will give him the upper hand over Fury. He expressed his views in a recent interview with BoxNation.

“Nine times out of ten Fury has sparred with southpaws, he thinks he’s done everything right to fight a southpaw. SugarHill has done a great job with him but my thing is Usyk has the smarts to do so much more.”

Usyk claimed victory in their first bout on points. The Ukrainian fighter backed Fury against the ropes with a left hand and flurry in round 9, resulting in a standing eight count for the Briton.

With less than two weeks remaining, Usyk appears in outstanding form as he prepares to defend three of the four world heavyweight titles.

Moorer highlighted the contrasting backgrounds of the fighters: “Fury back in the day he wasn’t a real boxer guy, he was out of shape, but Usyk was a guy that was always in shape always doing the right thing. I think Usyk will stop him probably 10th, 11th round. I think Usyk will win.”

The former champion feels that Usyk’s skills make him a formidable competitor in the current heavyweight scene. “In this era, probably, because he knows how to fight.”

Moorer has firsthand experience with heavyweight upsets. He defeated Evander Holyfield in 1994 to become champion but later lost the title to George Foreman that same year. Foreman’s victory made him the oldest heavyweight champion ever at 45.

Fury vs Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight crown is set for December 21. Time will tell if Moorer’s prediction holds true.
