FanDuel was penalized $2,000 and had to pay out more than $230,000 in bets after allowing 34 bets on PFL fights that had already happened a week earlier. The incident took place in 2022 when FanDuel took bets on PFL fights scheduled for April 1 but had actually occurred on March 25. These fights were part of the PFL Challengers series shown on tape delay on Fubo TV.

New Jersey gambling authorities imposed the fine, which FanDuel accepted without making a public statement. The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement disclosed that FanDuel was not aware that the card was pre-recorded and aired at a later date because their data providers did not inform them. FanDuel set up betting options based on information from PFL without verifying with the league if the event was already done.

FanDuel acknowledged that their traders did not check with PFL about the pre-recorded event and only found out when International Betting Integrity raised concerns about the bets. A total of 26 online bets and eight retail wagers were placed on the PFL matches, resulting in payouts totaling $231,094.

Subsequent to the incident, FanDuel had to enhance its internal controls to prevent similar errors in the future as instructed by the state regulators.
