Sean Strickland, a former UFC middleweight champion, thinks he should get a chance to fight for the title again soon. He won a tough split decision against Paulo Costa at UFC 302 in Newark, NJ. Strickland believes he deserves this title shot, especially after almost defending his title in January against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297. He feels he won that fight, but thinks it was affected by what he called “dirty Canadian leftists.”

However, the UFC has other plans. Du Plessis will defend his title against Israel Adesanya at UFC 305 in Perth, Western Australia on August 17, 2024. Despite this, Strickland has said he is willing to be patient and wait for his own shot at the title.

At 33 years old, Strickland has beaten Adesanya before and believes he also beat Du Plessis. It’s not clear yet if he will get to fight the winner of UFC 305 for the title.

In the meantime, Strickland plans to continue sharing his thoughts and feelings on his podcast.
