Despite WWE not having immediate plans for him initially, they soon recognized his talent for delivering compelling promos, which unfortunately went unnoticed by the TV audience. Tarver expressed his frustration that his microphone skills were not given the spotlight they deserved.
He mentioned how his talent for promos quickly landed him on the road and recalled a missed chance to debut on ECW before eventually being selected for the inaugural season of NXT. Tarver believed that not debuting on ECW turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it paved the way for his involvement in NXT.
