Former UFC Hall of Famer, Mark Coleman, has revealed that he is currently hospitalized in Columbus due to a septic infection in his hip replacement. Coleman took to Instagram to share the news, mentioning that he would have to postpone emergency surgery until Monday due to being on blood thinners.

Coleman has had multiple hip replacement surgeries post his fighting career, which has increased his vulnerability to infections. The presence of metal implants makes it challenging for the immune system to fight bacteria, potentially leading to joint infections, even with antibiotic treatments.

The 59-year-old former UFC heavyweight champion is set to undergo surgery on Monday to address the infection in his hip. Earlier this year, Coleman was hospitalized after rescuing his parents from a house fire incident. He has since recovered and recently attended UFC events, such as the UFC 300 card in April.
