Conor McGregor has been backed to beat Logan Paul if they fight. On Tuesday, the former dual-weight UFC champion shocked the world by revealing that he’s ‘in preliminary agreements’ for his comeback bout.
‘Notorious’ announced that he’s set to face YouTuber-turned-WWE star Logan Paul in an exhibition boxing match scheduled to take place in India next year. A former world champion boxer has come forward to support McGregor, predicting that he will make easy work of ‘The Maverick’, who has previously boxed against Floyd Mayweather, Dillon Danis, and KSI.
Amir Khan, a seasoned professional boxer, commented on the upcoming rivalry between Conor McGregor and Logan Paul. According to the 38-year-old Brit, despite McGregor being the smaller fighter, he would likely find success against the older Paul brother if the match materializes.
Khan explained, “That’s not a bad fight for Conor because Conor is actually a big guy. When I stood against him, he’s only 10 pounds heavier than me normally, not fighting weight. But he is massive; he’s thick. So, I think he must walk into the ring around about 175, anyway. If that fight’s made at heavyweight, I think Conor could be fine.” He further assessed Logan’s abilities, stating that while he had beaten Mayweather, he believes McGregor would perform similarly well.
Khan did not shy away from expressing his confidence in McGregor’s knockout potential, asserting, “I don’t think Logan is as good as Jake [Paul]. I think Jake’s the better one out of the two. Even though he’s a little bit heavier, I still think he’s very, very beatable. Conor McGregor by knockout because Logan is very limited as a boxer.”
Amir Khan also expressed a desire to see Conor McGregor face Jake Paul instead. The boxer, who retired in 2022, believes that a fight between McGregor and Jake would generate more interest than the matchup with Logan, especially considering Jake’s skill set and commercial appeal.
Khan pointed out, “If it was with Jake, it’d be much bigger. Because if you look at Logan, he’s had losses, and he’s not really looked that great in fights. Jake is commercially a bigger fight.” He added that the verbal exchanges between the two would make the promotion exciting, stating, “The amount of s*** they’d be talking to each other would be massive. Whereas Logan is on the quiet side.”
In response to the possibility of his brother boxing McGregor, Jake Paul has weighed in. The 27-year-old revealed that he had also been approached about a fight with McGregor, noting he would only entertain negotiations if UFC boss Dana White was involved.
Jake Paul took to social media to express his thoughts, stating, “Now it all makes sense why Conor McGregor and his management team have been desperately trying to get MVP to negotiate for a fight between us. The only way we’re willing to explore me vs Conor in a pro boxing/MMA fight is if Dana White/UFC are at the table directly or make it clear they are okay with discussions. Conor is washed. Needs the Paul’s. Logan by however he wants.”
