Jake Paul beat Mike Tyson in a boxing match that got people talking. The fight occurred in November, having been moved from July when Tyson nearly died while getting ready.
Paul won by unanimous decision after eight two-minute rounds. Tyson, who’s 58 and hadn’t fought professionally since 2005, couldn’t overcome the younger Paul.
The boxing world wasn’t happy about the result. Artur Beterbiev, who holds all the belts in the light-heavyweight division, wants to fight Paul to get payback for Tyson.
"My favourite boxers are Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. When Jake Paul got the win over Mike Tyson, my first reaction was ‘I want to do something… you want real boxing, let’s do it. I want to pay him back,’" Beterbiev told IFL TV.
Beterbiev has expressed his dissatisfaction with Tyson’s loss and added, "I don’t like this [Tyson losing]. I know it’s business, if you can call it that. [Me and Paul would go] a couple rounds. [I would] just box … I already say everything. Send location."
Beterbiev has won all 21 of his fights, with 20 coming by knockout. He’s set to defend his four belts against Dmitry Bivol on February 22.
Claressa Shields also called out Jake Paul. She believes she’d stop him quickly.
The Paul-Tyson fight got a lot of attention, but it left many boxing fans unhappy. We’ll have to wait and see if any of these callouts lead to future fights for Paul.
