In a recent interview with Sky Sports, promoter Frank Warren shared that despite his disappointment, former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury was philosophical following his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk. The intense 12-round battle ended with Usyk claiming victory on the judges’ scorecards, handing Fury his first loss. However, with a rematch clause in place before the initial fight, Fury and his team have the chance for a do-over.

“The rematch was already agreed upon before the first fight happened,” Warren confirmed. “The scheduling for the rematch will be finalized in the coming month, as both fighters are eager for it.” Warren commended the Fury-Usyk bout as a gripping showdown, highlighting the determination shown by both fighters.

Warren pointed out that Usyk’s win stemmed from a pivotal moment in the fight where Fury took a significant blow to the nose, causing a shift in momentum. Despite a fierce battle ensuing, Usyk managed to rock Fury in the ninth round, coming close to a potential stoppage. Although Fury recovered and beat the count, he ultimately lost by a narrow margin.

Recognizing Fury’s skill and the anticipation surrounding a potential rematch with Usyk, Warren stated, “Tyson understands the task ahead.” He added, “Both fighters left it all in the ring, setting the stage for an intriguing rematch and its impact on both competitors.”
