When Georges St-Pierre noticed his celebrity crush watching him fight, he was completely captivated by her beauty, to such an extent that he lost focus on the task at hand.
The legendary fighter found himself gazing at the model while simultaneously being locked in the cage with one of the best opponents of all time.
Georges St-Pierre fought for honor and to establish himself as the greatest mixed martial artist on the planet—except in the case of his fight against B.J. Penn, when his focus shifted entirely to impressing Cindy Crawford.
It’s clear that Crawford held a special place in the legend’s heart, as ‘GSP’ struggled to take his eyes off her throughout the match-up.
When St-Pierre caught a glimpse of her before entering the cage, he was initially filled with anxiety, which evolved into infatuation as he battled his rival while still gazing into her eyes.
However, the situation took a turn when he realized who she was sitting next to.
In an interview with the Full Send Podcast, he recounted, “I remember, I was in the locker room, and sometimes, they (The UFC) show the celebrities in attendance. I saw Cindy Crawford. She used to be my favorite; she’s so beautiful."
He continued, “She was going to be watching me perform, so I was so nervous. During the fight, there was a moment where I got B.J. Penn against the fence, and I saw Cindy Crawford. That’s a true story. I was thinking, ‘She’s so beautiful’. I look at her, and I’m bldy, I’m in the clinch, I’ve got B.J.’s back against the fence. [I thought] ‘she’s so hot’. And then, I look next to her, and she’s with her husband. I’m like, ‘Oh St, her husband is watching me staring at his woman.’”
While it isn’t advisable to focus on attractive women during significant UFC bouts, St-Pierre ultimately wasn’t overly worried about any potential consequences.
On the other hand, there is one major mistake from his career that continues to haunt him, and he recently opened up about what that mistake was.
