Yesterday, the weigh-in for Gervonta Davis, Frank Martin, David Benavidez, and Oleksandr Gvozdyk was successfully completed in preparation for their upcoming fights on Saturday evening at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Gervonta Davis, the WBA ‘regular’ lightweight champion boasting a remarkable record of 29 wins and 27 knockouts, added some excitement to the weigh-in with a backflip. Davis is favored to win his bout against Frank Martin, who holds a record of 18 wins and 12 knockouts. Nonetheless, Martin has the potential to surprise fans if he can secure enough early rounds to claim a decision victory.

David Benavidez and Oleksandr Gvozdyk also weighed in at 174.2 lbs each. Despite sharing the same weight, Benavidez, with a record of 28 wins and 24 knockouts, appeared slightly smaller and less muscular compared to Gvozdyk, who has 20 wins and 16 knockouts to his name. This fight will mark Benavidez’s debut at 175 pounds, and fans are eager to see how he adapts to the new weight class while facing a formidable and technically skilled opponent like Gvozdyk.

Leonard Ellerbe, former CEO of Mayweather Promotions, expressed confidence in Gervonta Davis’s preparedness for Saturday’s fight, emphasizing the importance of enjoying the moment and captivating the audience on the grand stage. Ellerbe suggested that Davis’s newfound charisma might unsettle his opponent, Frank Martin.

The event is scheduled to be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
