Mike Goldberg, a long-standing play-by-play commentator for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), left the organization after its acquisition by WME-IMG in 2016. His final UFC event was UFC 207 in 2016, where he worked alongside Joe Rogan.

Following his departure from UFC, Goldberg ventured into commentary for Bellator and other combat sports promotions. Despite being in talks with WWE at one point, he opted to remain with UFC due to the promising opportunities it offered. UFC has since adopted a three-person commentary team, including former fighters working alongside Rogan.

Despite parting ways with UFC, Goldberg holds no ill feelings towards anyone, including UFC CEO Dana White and former owner Lorenzo Fertitta. He appreciates the value and impact of his time with UFC and is thankful for the experiences gained during his tenure with the organization.
